Surprise snail mail is always fun!

Hi from SLC!
Today was our travel day and we are so tired but already enjoying ourselves!  We ventured out for lunch and then did some quick jewelry shopping to treat ourselves for an awesome SU! year!  Diana and I love to shop together and share special memories from our trips.  Jewelry is one way to be able to look back at it later and remember where we were and what it was for.

Finished up our evening with dinner at Red Rock with some team members that also arrived today and friends from my trips to Montana and Boise!  Ready to call it a day!

But here's a lovely card from my sweet downline and friend Ellie!  Mwah!! Thanks for the snail mail surprise, it sure made my day!

Have a great week!!

Choose Happiness

Hi again!

They have all been telling me that age doesn't matter, it's just a number.  That it's all in how you look at it and your attitude ...  So how fitting is today's card?  Absolutely Perfect I'd say!!!  For one thing, it is from my Bestie Diana Gibbs (hugs baby!) and the perfect card using one of our brand new stamp sets this year, and LOVE the greeting, just perfect for me!  Wouldn't you agree??

I love you girlie!!  You are such a great friend and I'm so lucky and blessed to have you in my daily life!  Thank you for treating me to lunch today at one of our favorite spots, The Deli!  Lunch was delicious but it was YOU that made it special!  Can't wait to spend next week with you in SLC getting caught up & sharing in our accomplishments and setting goals for the new year!

Love ya!  Mwah!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today to see what was new!  Check in tomorrow too!  At this rate I might just celebrate right on through the whole month!!

Look at this cute card I received on my birthday from one of my sweet downline members, Cindy!  It is so bright and cheery, love all the details - makes something simple have some serious WOW!

She brought it over along with a favorite yummy Iced Tea from my favorite local spot, AJs ... and the stinker included fun things inside too!  Mwah, thanks Cindy!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Off to continue the celebrations!!  Who knew 50 would be this fun!

Happy Mail Day

Today was a happy mail day!!  Thank you Kim for my fun stamped card!  Love it and I can't wait to see you next week in SLC and get to celebrate together!!

My day today was great, considering it was my 50th birthday.  The quick recap includes these highlights ...
Rachel surprising me with flowers, iced tea and a bagel this morning!!
My sweet neighbor & best friend Maureen brought down a gift, a new AJs tumbler mug and gift cards! We both share July birthdays so it's always a fun way to treat each other.
Phone calls from my brother Steve and then one from my parents (singing to me!)
Then a quick successful trip shopping for a new dress (score 50% off and then another 25% with a coupon code!)
Then Cindy brought me a tea and a stamped card and gift (so sweet but shame on her!) Delivery of flowers from my folks and wine from my Napa Valley brother - poor UPS guy came 3 times today!!
Tons of birthday wishes on Facebook from friends near and far -so nice that FB can keep us connected!

My evening got better since we all went to dinner to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and then the girls suggested a stop at the Sugar Bowl for ice cream!  And I received birthday presents too, yes we are all kids on our birthdays I think!  A favorite mani-pedi certificate from my in-laws and an iPad Air from Dave and the girls :))))

Now to figure out how to do things from it!

EDIT - so I was able to write a post in the Blogger App but I couldn't figure out how to get the pictures to upload ... so still some learning to do!

And sorry the pics are not great because of the lighting and weather ... but you get the idea!  And we got to celebrate Sean's 20th Birthday too!  He's such a great young man and happy to have him dating Nicole (they are quite the cute couple for 3.5+ yrs now!).

Thanks for stopping by!

Tah-Dah, CASEd Closed!

Hi!
Happy Tuesday and thanks for coming back to see the finished version!  How many of you went to see what page it was in your catalog?  Did you guess page 109, Just Saying?  Congrats if you did!  I just love everything about it!  I love the colors, the pop of black and white is just so crisp!  So many layers and textures, all kind of comes together!!

Here they are all ready bagged, tagged and ready to swap!  Can't wait to show you what I get in return!

This picture is a little less busy, just one lonely lil' swap card pulled out of the pile!

Featuring:  Just Saying & Word Bubble Framelits, the Arrows Embossing Folder, the new PL Corner rounder (on the Basic Gray layer), the new Trio Punch Pack flower punch with Black candy dot center! and Cardstock Vellum ... couple of pops of color with Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo!

Have a terrific day!

Catalog CASE'ing Going On!

Hi!
Here's hoping that you all had a great weekend!  We enjoyed our long weekend very much!  It started Thursday with a girls night Happy Hour and the men were out together too, having a beer and pizza ... but in the end they met up with us as we'd had a few too many martinis to be driving!  We had a fun bbq and swim at our house on the 4th and ended with a few fireworks.  I'll have to take some pictures, but my house was quite festive thanks to our June MPP Kit & my love for the 4th of July in general!  I've always said that the 4th gives you a few days notice until the 9th rolls around!!  Yep, that's my birthday and this year it's a big one!

Anyhow, here's what happening today in my neck of the woods!  I am hosting a swap at convention for the gals going from my team - we decided on a Catalog CASE as the theme, so we each picked a sample from the catalog and we'll be swapping in a week!!

Which Page am I?  I love all the samples on this page actually!!  Almost done and ready to bag up and set aside for the trip!

Come back tomorrow and see what else I'm working on!  Happy Monday everyone!  Oh and don't forget the WEEKLY SPECIALS end on Monday nights and new ones begin each Tuesday ... so let me know if you want anything!!

Happy Stamping,
Rhonda

Pistachio, OMG, Day 3

Hello!

Thanks for coming back, I really appreciate it!  I hope you enjoy today's creation that doesn't end ... it seems like it kept going and going and going!  My sweet friend Becky Roberts  and Sarah S (one of SU!'s Artisan Award Winners) and Michelle Wooderson are all amazing artists and create masterpieces!  This one was inspired by all of them!!

This continues with the same Pistachio Ensemble of supplies that I've been showing you and today this one adds in the new Polka Dot Tag a Bag Gift Bags (p201, $3.95/10).
Here's a look from the top down, to see the pockets and how things are in it.
The actual bag opening holds a 4x6 note card that you can write on and then there are 4 gift tags (any occasion) tucked in behind the candies which are in the front pocket.
And can you see that I actually USED my lil' sewing machine that I bought awhile ago (ashamed to say how long I have been afraid to bust it out)!  This was really fun and came together so quickly, if you consider how much I made in one "hot Friday night date night".  The funny thing when I showed Dave what I'd been doing, he was like "hey, I like everything, wait, are those my Andes mints?"

That's the end of that, it was yummy Pistachio Pudding alright but I wonder what is next.  Stop by to check it out!  What was your favorite piece of the ensemble?  leave me a comment!

Thanks,
Rhonda

Pistachio Ensemble, day 2

Hello again,

Thanks for returning for more!  Since I was really in the groove that night, I moved on to page 14, top left corner sample!  We have an amazing catalog and artists and design teams at the home office.  They spend hours and hours upon hours creating samples to inspire us, so what better place to CASE than from our own catalog!!

CASEng is a great way to get started, it gives you a starting point and then you jump in and begin and before you know it you're doing your own thing!  If you were to take a survey of demonstrators, I'm pretty sure 95% would say they CASE often or at least frequently!  Whether it is straight up a sample, or from a sketch layout, or from a magazine for color inspiration ... nothing wrong with it!  I hope you don't mind me sharing my CASEs!!

For today, I kept with the same series of supplies that are splattered across my studio and this also uses one of the Tag A Bag Gift Boxes on pg 201 ($6.95 for 8 boxes/sleeves) and a bit of the Thick Bakers Twine in Baked Brown Sugar to coordinate with introducing the Kraft color too!

and adding in the other pieces of the Pistachio Ensemble ... here we are so FAR!!

Of course, yes you need to come back!

Pistachio Pudding please!

Hi!

I hope you are enjoying my posts, I will be trying to schedule my time to include taking the pictures and editing and uploading so that I can be more regular in my blogging.  It's not that I don't have something to share, it's that I don't always take the pictures and do what's needed to get them up here for you!  So it's a new SU Catalog year for us, so I am setting new goals and Blogging is one of them!  And you can find me on facebook too, INKin' All Night! with Rhonda (like my page and get other updates there too!)

Here's a bit more CASEing that happened last Friday night!  Yep, Dave was exhausted from a rough week and both girls were out, so we ordered take out and then each relaxed doing our own thing, hot Friday date night!

This time I started out to case the French Fry Box on pg 20.  Here's what happened!  I started with Pistachio Pudding cardstock and In Color Designer Series Paper and then ...

So I cut the front panel of the DSP for this box which meant the other half was waiting to be used because we can't throw anything out, that would be wasteful!  And you can see that I strayed from the catalog sample because I decided to use my Label Something stamp set since it has hardly seen ink (another goal, get my sets inky!).

So this one used the larger portion of the die and it was applied to give it a pretty inside liner.  I decided to keep to the same supplies and create a bit of an ensemble ... since by this time my mind was racing with additional ideas too!

Here they are together!  These are an adorable size and I can think of so many uses for them!  I just haven't left the house in order to buy any goodies to fill them up with, so shreddy it is!  ;)

Supplies used on these were the French Fry Box Die, Pistachio Pudding (cardstock and ink), In Color DSP Stack, Label Something stamp set, Hexagon punch, Ticket Duo punch, Modern Label punch, 7/8" Scallop Circle punch, Tea Lace Doilies, Pearl Jewels, Basic Hodgepodge Clips, new Thick Bakers Twine, 5/8" Organza Ribbon, new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Yep, you're gonna wanna come back for more!

Hugs
Rhonda

Super Size Please

Howdy!

Well I headed over to Pinterest to see what's new and of course I was checking out the Hamburger Box Die and French Fry Box Die to see what else others were doing and sure enough, leave it up to Tanya (Stamping T, an Australian demo) to find a way to get more than just the obvious out of the die!

Here's my 1st attempt at the Super Size Hamburger Box ...  not too bad, this TAFFY DSP is so flippin' fun!  I love it!  And I paired with the 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, together they scream "let's have a party!"

Can you see the little scallop edge on the green polka dot trim piece that covers the extra crease you get from extending the paper size.  That's one of our decorative blades for the Rotary Trimmer Attachment!

On my business facebook page I posted a teaser picture the other day and asked what their Go To Greeting set was ... and everyone said it screamed birthday, so I went with the You Make Me Happy from Banner Greetings!  I hope you like it!

and why stop at one, right?  I mean it's not like I am eating them!  Zero Calories!  Yum!

This second one uses Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the yummy yummy TAFFY DSP again, and our fabulous Gift Bow Bigz Die and then a fan favorite greeting from the Yippee Skippee stamp set!  And why not, it's a birthday, let's bling it out with Rhinestone Jewels!

Thanks!
Rhonda
