Great Team Meeting Last Night

Hi!
It has been a very busy few days ... last week entailed a lot of dance for Miss Rachel, she did amazing in their high school Spring Recital and on Sunday with her dance studio at a Competition.  We also fit a trip down to Tucson in on Saturday to take Nicole out for her 19th birthday ... oh gosh, how is she getting so old?  It was nice to see and treat her friends to dinner and a offer them a nice little break while they study for finals.  But it made for a crazy busy week!  And this week is more of the same as we move Nicole home, add in another dance competition this Fri and Sat and then holy cow, my baby Rachel is 16 next week!  Wowza!

So I spent yesterday, Monday, in my studio preparing for my INKin' All Night! team meeting!  Each month I host a meeting for my team of demonstrators and the 2nd month of the quarter is typically our Shoe Box Swap meeting.  We meet at a local restaurant for dinner and then stay and stamp afterwards, socializing and having fun and getting to know each other!  It's a great night and last night we had one of our largest groups of the year, we have over 21 swappers, including 2 out of state gals that joined by sending their cards and probably 4-5 gals that were 1st timers attending!  Had a couple of hiccups but we recovered and got into the swing of it and by the end, it was all good!!

My swap card features a couple of the NEW HOSTESS SETS!  I also used a new package of Designer Series Paper and a new style of buttons too!  My layout and inspiration came from a card that one of the SU Artisan team made.  I just made it fit my new supplies and tah-dah, here it is!

What an Epic Posie!

Hi!
Today I am going to share with you a card that Stampin' Up! posted.  I literally am just in a happy stamping heaven with it!  It's so bright and cheery and fun!  I love it and it really is not hard at all!  It was created by one of their Artisan Award Demonstrators, they share creations with us monthly on our demonstrator website ... just had to pass this beauty along!

Start with your card base and splatter some color to the base of the card with a marker and your Air Art Gun (retiring... sad I love this tool) and stamp a greeting in the top corner (could sub the HB greeting and use the one that comes in the Pop Up Posies kit).  Cut some strips of Designer Series Patterned Paper (aka DSP) in varying widths and fishtail cut the ends into little flags.  Line them up and over lap them a bit, secure with a strip of our new Washi tapes.  Add some twine and leave the tails long and curly.  The beautiful posie flower comes from our Pop Up Posies Kit, yep already cut out and ready to go, scrunch a few, layer and pierce the layers all at once, add in a button brad (yep, included in the kit too!) and mount to the card.  For a finishing touch, stamp a greeting on DSP and punch out with the ticket punch (or whatever you have handy!) and tuck it into a cute little clip and adhere to the card!

This is a one layer card made with scraps and a few other things ... simply adorable!  What do you think??

A little update on the the Color Refresh and the Retiring Colors, some ink refills are already sold out, so make sure you grab what you need while they are available.

Here are a few ideas from my March team swap to inspire you - please enjoy!  I know a couple are Easter-y and too late to hand out for the holiday but in my opinion the little chick and bunny are perfect for Spring and just in time to scrapbook your holiday pictures or in a thank you note! And the butterfly card, you just need to see it in real life, the glitter and color are wonderful!

The little CHICK happy Easter card was my swap card, and I definitely CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) this little beauty from Sharon B.

And this adorable BUNNY card was swapped by Elizabeth!  Love It and so happy to have one! Did you see what she used for his tail??  Yep, the 5/8" flower trim from the spring mini catalog! 

And this one in real life, it's so shiny and shimmering with all that glitter!  So colorful too, it just wants to sizzle right of the page!  Thank you Cindy for this gorgeous card!!!  And yes, it pushed me over the edge to have to buy this stamp ... I thought I had managed an ounce of self control, but nope, now its mine!

Okay I have to get off, trying to write shorter posts so that I'll do it more often but I feel like it's been so much business news that I needed to even it out with more inspiration too!
